Clovis Police Department PSA Fraudulent Telephone Calls

Several citizens have reported receiving phone calls from persons identifying themselves as employees from local law enforcement or the courts. The caller has reported to the citizen, they are a local law enforcement or court employee and are requiring payment for a missed court appearance. 

If you receive one of these calls, do not send money or offer to make a payment over the phone. It is a scam. The courts will notify citizens of missed court appearances via mail with instructions on any future mandatory court appearances if one is required. The courts will not call and request payments without a court appearance. 

Anyone with relevant information about the scammers making these phone calls is urged to call the non-emergency line at 575-769-1921.
