Groundbreaking to be held for Clovis Regional Airport Terminal

CLOVIS, NM (October 22nd, 2024) – The City of Clovis will be hosting a groundbreaking for the Clovis Regional Airport Terminal. The groundbreaking will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at the Clovis Regional Airport located at 459 County Road 11.5, Texico, New Mexico.

Attendees include Senator Martin Heinrich, Congresswoman Teresa Ledger Fernandez, as well as representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration, State area legislators, State of New Mexico Transportation Department, State of New Mexico Aviation Division.

The $26,628,158 dollar project was funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, the State of New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Division, and the City of Clovis. The new terminal building will include check-in desks for airlines and car rentals, a restaurant, baggage claim, ample passenger seating, and additional parking.

“The City of Clovis is extremely grateful to our federal delegation, the FAA and the State of New Mexico for their outstanding support for this project,” advised Clovis Mayor Morris.  “The new terminal will address the future needs of the community, and we are excited for the service it will provide area residents and the new opportunities it will bring.”

“This terminal will be the largest municipal construction project the City of Clovis has undertaken, and we are looking forward to offering travelers an enhanced experience when they fly in and out of Clovis in the future,” advised Clovis Regional Airport Director, Amanda Brungart.

Construction for the new terminal, which begins following the groundbreaking, is projected to take 18 months to complete. A grand opening will take place once the building is ready to open its doors to passengers.
