About the Position

Pecos Valley Counseling is seeking a Male Educator to serve as an independent contractor, providing structured academic and life skills support to individuals and families. While the primary focus is on education, the role also includes responsibilities typically associated with behavioral health support services.

The ideal candidate is committed to helping clients develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and build self-sufficiency through mentorship and education. Reliable personal transportation is required, as services will be delivered in homes, schools, and community settings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized educational instruction and support that fosters recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency.

  • Facilitate development in key areas such as social skills, daily living activities, academic readiness, and work preparation.

  • Provide educational support and resources for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges.

  • Assist clients in identifying and strengthening natural support systems within home and community environments.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align educational goals with therapeutic and case management plans.


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

  • Completion of the Community Case Worker Short Course and the 20-hour CCSS (Comprehensive Community Support Services) training.

  • 3–6 months of experience as a CCSS provider with an active CCSS certificate or experience as a licensed educator.

  • Entry-level experience (under 1 year) in behavioral health or education is acceptable.

  • Must have passed a background check in accordance with state and agency requirement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience working in behavioral health, education, or youth development.

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and individualized learning strategies.

Confidentiality & HIPAA Compliance Agreement

Contractor acknowledges that while performing services under this Agreement, they may have access to confidential and proprietary information belonging to Pecos Valley Counseling, including but not limited to client health information, client lists, and financial data (“Confidential Information”).

Contractor agrees to:

  • Protect and not disclose any Confidential Information to third parties in accordance with HIPAA regulations, both during and after the term of this Agreement.

  • Implement appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of client data.

  • Promptly report any breaches or unauthorized access to Confidential Information to the Company in line with applicable laws and company policies.

  • Cooperate fully with the Company in any investigations or corrective actions following a breach.

  • Use Confidential Information only to fulfill contractual obligations under this Agreement.

  • Upon termination or expiration of the Agreement, return or securely destroy all Confidential Information in their possession.
