Taking Advantage of the Employee Retention Credit Free Seminar
(Clovis, New Mexico) Monday, November 22, 2021—The Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce and Clovis Economic Development (CIDC) today announced that they are hosting a free seminar to help local businesses take advantage of the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) and other business recovery grant programs. On Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 9 a.m., Michelle Kirkland and Marius Stein of Carr, Riggs & Ingram accounting firm will share information about the ERC, explain who qualifies and help eligible employers receive the tax credit. Registrants can attend the seminar in person at the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce board room (105 E Grand Ave) or virtually via Zoom.
The Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) represents, for many, the single largest small business stimulus in U.S. history behind PPP loans. However, many businesses do not understand how the tax credits work, how much funding is available, and how to get it. For those who have overpaid on their payroll taxes, this important seminar will help owners get that money back.
Introduced as part of the CARES Act for businesses to retain employees during the pandemic, the ERTC is a refundable tax credit that can be claimed when eligible employers report their total qualified wages for each calendar quarter on their federal employment tax returns. Due to new legislation, employers can retroactively obtain both a PPP loan and claim the ERTC.
To register for the ERC Seminar on Dec. 7, please contact the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce at 575-763-3435 or email@example.com. Please specify if you plan to attend in person or would like to receive Zoom access.
