The RGH Foundation is hosting the 5th Annual Skeet Shoot to raise funds for Roosevelt General Hospital. All proceeds are used to enhance the patient’s experience during their visit. The shoot is scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at Idsinga Dairy located at 43351 US Highway 70 in Portales, New Mexico.

Everyone is invited to participate in the ‘Shoot for Good Health’ fundraiser. New to this years skeet shoot is a women’s division—other divisions include youth, adult-mixed and team. You may register at the event or in advance by contacting Jeanette Orrantia at (575) 226-6669 or by email at jorrantia@myrgh.org.

The five-hour event begins at 8 a.m. All first place winners receive a prize. Entry fees range from $35 to $175. Anyone under the age of 18 must present a hunter safety card during registration.

Last year, nearly $12,000 was raised at this event. Fundraising dollars have been used to purchase TVs for waiting areas and patient rooms, add new floors for inpatient area, acquire up-to-date physical therapy equipment, add comfortable reclining chairs in patient rooms, and upgrade the patient rooms in behavioral health with more suitable and inviting accommodations, plus much more. “Items purchased by the Foundation for the hospital and clinic improve the overall patient experience by providing our patients with items that make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable,” stated Jeanette Orrantia, executive director of RGH Foundation.

In addition to the skeet shoot, a variety of guns will be raffled to help raise funds including a Henry Repeating Arms 357 Mag, 9MM Glock with USA flag imprint, and a 9MM Ruger. The Foundation will also raffle off a YETI cooler. Raffle tickets range in price from $10-$35. To purchase a raffle ticket, call 575-226-6669.

Idsinga Dairy, C&S, Your First Choice 4 Realty LLC, American National Insurance, White Rock Crushing, LLC, Scott & Debbie Reeves, and Edward Jones Investments are generous sponsors for this year’s fundraiser event.
